A woman’s worth

It’s funny how, as women, we are so hard on ourselves these days. And I use the term “funny” with the least amount of humor possible. There is nothing even remotely funny about how we pick ourselves apart. It seems as if we can not function in our lives if we do not at some point in our day compare our lips or thighs to those impossibly skinny Hollywood starlets. I mean, COME ON! It’s everywhere. Sitting on the coffee table at the doctor’s waiting room, at the gym perched ever so delicately on the treadmill next to us  (how sweet that someone forgot to put it away when they were finished), we even have to fight our urges to flip the pages of the newest issue as we check out at the grocery store! With this kind of media surrounding us every day, it’s no wonder women are putting these unnecessary pressures on themselves! Myself definitely included!  I am, however, trying to accept the natural curves that come with being a latin woman and taking pride in my heritage! And I encourage you ladies to do so as well! Really, what’s the use in knowing how to dance salsa if you don’t have the hips to swing along with the beat?!  Embrace the woman you are! Love your straight hair because someone out there is wishing they didn’t have to spend hours undoing their curls, sway when you walk because your hips are making mens necks break, wear lacy lingerie because it makes YOU feel sexy, and smile because you have been blessed to live your life as a passionate, sultry creature with the quiet power that can unravel any man.

Sometimes, it can be difficult to let loose and allow yourself to marvel in the beauty that is your own body. So here’s something that might force you out of your shell. BOUDOIR PHOTOS! Its intended use it to make women feel powerful and beautiful…. making men melt is only an added bonus…

Yep! That’s yours truly!  The above photo was taken by my ever so talented sister at www.BrownEyedPhotograhper.com

I just love doing makeup for these shoots! It’s about simple and clean beauty with a punch of sex appeal! My sister and I are hosting another Boudoir marathon for the last weekend in January and I simply CAN NOT wait!! There are still a few slots open for the weekend so let me know if you are interested!

Here’s shot of the last session we did.

The model in these photos is a real woman, just like you and I. She requested a smokey eye so I used pigments from MAC’s Holiday set to create her look. DinAir airbrush foundation, MAC’s Melba blush and Krylon’s tan for her contouring! Tossed on some Ardell  false lashes and she was in LOVE!
